Since I love nature photography and the great outdoors, it’s only fitting that my favorite sports are played out in the open. Last weekend, while hiking, I came across a number of seniors out for their nature walk, and they described walking as their sport. I loved it and thought to come up with my own favorite sports. While I love soccer as much as the next guy, I went for sports that are more in tune to the beauty of nature, sports that make me interact and appreciate what the natural world has to offer. Golf, for instance, is one such sport. For me, there is no game more relaxing than golf. You can spend an entire afternoon hitting balls with different clubs, and you’ll never tire of the view. I feel like there’s no better backdrop for an adventure than our very own national parks. The U.S. is filled with countless national parks of all shapes and sizes, with some being more famous than others. It’s a shame though, when you think of all the beautiful parks that deserve as much attention as the big-name ones, but unfortunately don’t get as many visitors. On that note, here’s part one of “Jim Feldkamp’s Lesser-Known Yet Adventure-Filled National Parks.” Gates of the Arctic Probably because it’s more difficult to get to than the other national parks, the Gates of the Arctic, found in Alaska had only a little more than 11,000 visitors in 2017.
